LOCAL REALTY’S SILENT PARTNER HAS PLENTY TO SAY ABOUT THE RAILROAD DINING CAR EXPERIENCE
Karl D. Spence co-authors Dining on the B&O, Recipes and Sidelights from a Bygone Age
Clovis, N.M., April 20, 2010--Karl D. Spence is co-owner and “silent partner” of WEICHERT, REALTORS® - The 505 Group, the Clovis agency co-owned and run by his wife, Broker Carolyn Spence, and Associate Broker Katherine Fly.
Mr. Spence is anything but silent, however, on his favorite subject, train travel. Spence and Thomas J. Greco have written Dining on the B&O, Recipes and Sidelights from a Bygone Age, in association with the B&O Railroad Museum.
The two recently took the book on tour, attending book signings at such as Barnes & Noble and as guests of a reception and discussion at the B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore, Maryland. Hosted by the publisher, The Johns Hopkins University Press, and the University Alumni Assoc, the celebration was attended by some 300 people who shared in the reminiscences as told by the authors under the wooden dome of the B&O Roundhouse.
In their book, Spence and Greco combined recipes with historical photos to provide a ride through the past --along the routes traveled by the B&O in bygone years. In addition to the recipes and descriptions of the elegant dining that passengers experienced, long a first-class highlight of train travel, the book’s reminiscences are a soup-to-nuts examination of what it was once like to travel by rail from the ‘40s to the‘60s.

WEICHERT, REALTORS® - THE 505 GROUP AGENTS RECOGNIZED BY NATIONAL FRANCHISE FOR 2009 PRODUCTION
Clovis, N.M., March 17, 2010— Weichert Real Estate Affiliates has recognized its 2009 top producing agents in several categories. Two agents from Weichert REALTORS® - The 505 Group were was honored.
Leah Cotton was inducted into the Executive Club, receiving a plaque for her achievement. Brett Johnson was named to the Certificate Club and received a Sales Achievement Award.
All awards from the national franchise organization are based on minimum requirements per category in gross commission income or units earned among the nearly 7,000 associates in 35 states at year’s end.
